Product Description

Onions are responsible for bringing the flavour to so many of your go-to dishes, so why not grow your own supply of onion plants from your garden? As if onions weren't already delicious enough, they'll taste even better when you've grown them yourself!

Our collection of autumn planting onion sets includes 250g each of:

Radar: A well-established and highly favoured variety featuring good resistance to bolting and very little winter kill. The long-necked bulbs have dark skin with clean white flesh and excellent storage ability. Plant from September. Harvest from late May to June.

Electric: Lovely, red-skinned onions with an elongated shape and gorgeous red-ringed flesh. Maturing in early summer, they are perfect in salads or a stir fry and survive the winter well. Plant from September.

Snowball: White-skinned, as its name suggests, Snowball has a lovely, mild flavour and the bulbs keep well. A great choice for baking whole with the Sunday roast!

Shop our autumn planting onion sets today and add a kick of flavour to your garden patches. Make the most of your outdoor space and grow vegetable plants that you can add to a variety of dishes!

Fothergills let down by poor packaging

My first delivery arrived as an empty padded envelope and I reported this to Fothergills who immediately dealt with it by re-ordering FOC on my behalf. The replacement delivery was left safe last night and I found it this morning. The contents are safe but this is only by luck. The envelope itself only just survived and the adhesive tab adhesion is poor. It is clear from the photo that the envelope had a rough ride.
I am really happy with Fothergills, my autumn planting sets but I think the padded envelopes being used may need to be reviewed!
